ApplyPilot is a browser extension that helps job seekers tailor their resume and cover letter to a job description and check ATS keyword compatibility. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers, because we do not operate any servers that receive your data. Your resume, job descriptions, and results stay 100% locally inside your browser.
Nothing. We do not collect names, emails, resumes, job descriptions, generated content, browsing history, or usage analytics. There is no account and no backend database that receives your data.
The only purchase-related data involved is your license key, which is sent to the license-verification endpoint (Dodo Payments) solely to validate that your Pro purchase is active. We do not store your license key on any server.
The resume you paste and the job descriptions you enter are stored only in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device. They are never uploaded to us and never leave your device, except as described in the BYOK section below.
The AI features (Tailor Resume, Cover Letter, Interview Questions) use your own LLM API key. That key is stored only in your browser's sync storage (chrome.storage.sync) and is never sent to us. When you use an AI feature, the resume text and job description you provided are sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you configured, using your key. We are not an intermediary and never see the key or the content. The local ATS score runs entirely offline and sends nothing anywhere.

We share no data with third parties. The only network requests your browser may make are: (1) at your explicit choice, to the AI provider you configured when you use a BYOK AI feature; and (2) to the license-verification endpoint when you activate or validate a Pro license key.
ApplyPilot is offered as a free tier (local ATS scoring plus 3 AI uses per month) plus an optional Pro upgrade ($19 one-time) that unlocks unlimited AI uses, interview questions, and .docx export. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, a third-party Merchant of Record — we never see, store, or handle your card or payment details. The checkout is conducted entirely on Dodo's pages.
To unlock Pro, you receive a license key from Dodo and enter it in ApplyPilot Settings. The key is sent only to Dodo's public license endpoints to confirm it is valid and active. ApplyPilot stores only the activation status locally on your device (chrome.storage.sync).
